Alvie Stables - Adventures on Horseback

At Alvie Stables we ride through the beautiful countryside of Alvie Estate which is part of the Cairngorm National Park. Our off road riding has spectacular views of the Cairngorm Mountain Range, Spey Valley and Loch Alvie with hillside and woodland rides. In addition to wonderful views there is a chance to see wildlife such as deer, rabbits, red squirrels, buzzards, herons and the occaisional osprey. Established in 1995, our staff are qualified, experienced and friendly. We place an emphasis on enjoyment and safety on horses and ponies that are well schooled and fit. Our horses and ponies range from 12.2hh to 17hh with a variety of breeds and colours. All have great temperaments and characters. Novice to experienced riders are catered for with trekking for beginners and first timers, intermediate rides for those that can trot and hacking for riders that can canter. We offer 1 or 1 1/2 hr rides. Children 4 years and over are welcome for mini rides, 1/2 hr lessons or 1 hr rides. Families are a speciality with discounts available. All our prices are competitive with equipment such as riding hats, boots, jackets and gloves available free of charge. Please note that there is a weight restriction of 15 stone (97kgs, 210lbs) Alvie Stables is located just 4 miles south of Aviemore off the B9152 between Aviemore and Kincraig. Please arrive 15 mins prior to your booking time.
