Alyth is a small and friendly village east of Blairgowrie.  It is home to the Alyth Den, a great area for walking routes through forests and past the river. There is also great golf courses and Alyth Museum is open in summer featuring displays on local agrarian history.

It is home to several hidden gems including the ruins of an old church where Robert the Bruce is said to have worshiped, known locally as The Arches, in a prominent position at the top of the town as well as a Pictish stone and Packbridge.

Near the town are the ruins of Bamff Castle, a Ramsay stronghold, and to the north-east on Barry Hill stands an Iron Age fort that also has traditional associations with the King Arthur legend.
