Tucked in between the edge of the forest and the Ault Mor burn, The Maltings offers seclusion for families looking for a rural retreat during your Highland holiday. Indoor Living A luxury country holiday home full of charm and original features throughout. Using heritage colours with sumptuous soft furnishings, the owner of The Maltings has given this period property the respect it deserves. A wood burning stove warms the living area, perfect for family get togethers or after a busy day outdoors. The old oat grinder sits in the bar area where a few glasses of malt wouldn't go amiss after your evening meal with the family. The dining area is a fantastic space to entertain and show off your culinary skills. Tastefully decorated and dressed in the style of the Scottish Highlands, you will be glad you chose The Maltings for your rural retreat. Outdoor Living With 2 acres of garden to explore, the family won’t be short of hiding places or seats to catch the sun with a morning cuppa or an evening tipple. A dedicated eating area with modern plush seating hosts everyone for alfresco dining, drinks or a BBQ. The Maltings has a recently renovated summerhouse from which you can take in the views, have some time away, or a place for the children to create an adventure. The ultimate in holiday treats must be the luxury hot tub from which you can enjoy this stunning location in sun, rain, wind or shine, day or night, perfect for the changeable Scottish weather. The village of Nethy Bridge is not too far away for keen walkers. Availability The Maltings is able to offer full weeks Friday to Friday or Monday to Monday, and some weekend breaks Friday to Monday, Midweeks Monday to Friday. We are delighted to welcome you to The Maltings at 4pm. Departure is required at 10am on your departure day. The property has a kitchen, dining room, 3 bedrooms, bathrooms and access to outdoors on the ground floor. Upstairs, you find the living area and bar, games and reading snug and a master bedroom. The Maltings is a 270 year old converted oat mill - now a self catering luxury lodge with a hot tub, summerhouse and large garden to explore. The property has steps to get to various levels and would not be suitable for wheelchairs. It would be accessible for prams and buggies.

Formally a hydro power sub station, this building has been renovated into a welcoming holiday cottage featuring a large and airy open-plan living space. Woodend has a relaxed, open atmosphere, with stylish finishings such as industrial-style lighting, white painted ceiling beams and carefully considered fabrics. The double height aspect and exposed flue of the wood burning stove give a sense of endless space. Skylight windows add plenty of natural light to the kitchen, and French doors open onto a secluded patio and enclosed garden. Butler's Lodge is in the heart of the estate, in a convenient location for the Ballroom and the Coats Room. Woodend Cottage, the forest and a charming walled garden are a stone's throw away. This characterful cottage boasts a spacious open plan living area, and finished throughout in furnishings and fabrics which echo the features of the landscape. The authentic character of the building remains in the presence of original doors, and even a 'glory hole', under-stair cupboard. It was once the home of Lord Glen Tanar's Butler, who earned £85 a year in 1900, with an additional beer allowance of three shillings and six pence a week (£17). Today it is heated by the estate's new biomass heating system, and has a charming enclosed garden with a hedge surround and a crab apple tree.

Finished in warm, neutral tones and with attractive wooden furniture, Rowan Cottage feels relaxing as soon as you cross the threshold. Hard to imagine that in the early 1900s it was a thatched bothy for farm workers, with one end used as a chicken coop! Times change.

This beautiful gatehouse conversion is idyllically set on the banks of the River Tanar surrounded by towering Scots Pine. It offers the discerning traveller a rare opportunity to indulge in luxury self-catering accommodation in a unique property which dates to the height of the Victorian era. Designed and built between 1871-1873 by Sir William Cunliffe Brooks and the famous architect George Truefitt, the Tower was originally built as an imposing entrance to the glen. However, in 1918, The Tower O’Ess was reimagined as an operational gatehouse by Lord Glentanar, Thomas Coats. This historic listed building has been completely reimagined and transformed into a luxurious romantic hideaway, complete with an outdoor hot tub, double ended slipper roll-top bath, luxurious super king bed, and a spectacular panoramic rooftop terrace overlooking the enchanting ancient pine forest.

Each of our four well appointed en suite rooms features a super-king size bed, a smart TV and sofa, fairtrade tea/coffee tray and Scottish snacks. Three of the rooms can be configured as a twin and one room as a triple, all rooms are available for single occupancy. Room 1 has a jacuzzi whirlpool bath – perfect to unwind in after a long day outdoors. Start the day with a selection from our extensive breakfast menu. Ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible to minimise food miles. To complement our popular hearty Scottish cooked breakfast we also have vegetarian, vegan and healthy lighter choices. The Gordon was built in the 1860s and is directly opposite the beautifully restored former railway station. It spent much of its life as a luxurious home for the local bank manager. As the manager lived above the bank all of our accommodation is on the first and second upper floors. Located in Royal Deeside at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park and with Balmoral Castle only a few miles away; The Gordon makes an ideal base for enjoying many local outdoor activities – walking, cycling, winter sports, nature rambles, birdwatching, exploring historic buildings, and at night is in a dark-skies area for watching the stars.

Brooklynn is a beautiful Guest House B&B in Grantown on Spey in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. The house is situated off the High street allowing easy walking to shops, restaurants and all the stunning woodland walks around the ancient woodland that surrounds the town. Brooklynn offers very comfortable accommodation; the rooms are spacious with a choice of twin or king sized beds allowing you to stretch out after a busy day, all rooms are en-suite with walk in showers, We are fortunate to have a busy kitchen garden, the poly tunnels are full of summer fruits to serve on the breakfast table. All inclusive breakfast is served in the dining room offering a selection of traditional and vegetarian options with fine teas and coffees. Thorsten has an extensive knowledge in Highland nature, wildlife and whisky and happy to give guidance. German and English are spoken in the house.

Also within walking distance of the River Dee and the golf course. Bearberry is popular all year round as an ideal base for everything this wonderful area has to offer. It features a secluded enclosed sunny rear garden, backing onto woodland, with garden furniture and barbecue. A peaceful location for watching the red squirrels which visit frequently. The cottage also makes a cosy winter retreat with full oil fired central heating, a wood burner in the sitting room and triple glazing. Bearberry provides a very well equipped kitchen, WiFi, a high chair, a travel cot and off-road parking. Bed linen, towels and a full supply of logs are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
