Mar Lodge Estate is made up of more than 29,000 hectares of astonishing Scottish landscape: heather-covered moorland, Caledonian pine forest, towering mountains.

There are 15 Munros on the estate (mountains over 914m/3,000ft high), including 4 of the 5 highest mountains in the UK.

The Lodge is also the perfect base to take on the munroes in the Glenshee, Glen Ey or Lochnagar areas.

The beautiful ancient pinewoods are home to red squirrels and pine martens as well as birds such as the crossbill and black grouse.

Our Ranger team offer both low level and high level guided walks throughout the year as part of our walking programme. We will also cater for private groups by prior arrangement. Traverses of the Lairig Ghru and Lairig an Laoigh passes make up two of the long distances traverses on offer.
