Arts Venue

St. Margaret's Braemar is considered to be one of Scotland's finest churches, designed in the late 19th century by renowned Scottish architect Sir John Ninian Comper, and is a monument to Braemar's Victorian heyday, a period of unprecedented development which saw the village transformed into a fashionable holiday destination that welcomed Queen Victoria, Prime Ministers, and leading society figures.
The St. Margaret's Project aims to restore and develop the building into a renowned, high quality performance and arts venue attracting local, national and international performers and audiences via a partnership between The Scottish Redundant Churches Trust and the St. Margaret's Trust. Although this is a project still in progress, St. Margaret's Braemar has been entertaining and delighting audiences with a series of concerts since 2014 and continues to do so with an inspiring programme of exhibitions, events and live performances the details of which are on their website. The project also aims to record and celebrate the rich cultural heritage and history of the building and the surrounding area.
During the Spring and Summer months we open St. Margaret's from 10am - 6pm for visitors, entry is free. We also run regular guided Tower Tours, please check our website for details. Please note our opening hours may vary slightly depending on our events programme
