Recharge your batteries under an ancient Scots pine tree in the foothills of the spectacular Cairngorm mountains! Our handcrafted yurt offers rustic, private accommodation, with a touch of luxury, in a magical woodland setting. The Old Pine Yurt is situated under an ancient Scots Pine tree, overlooking beautiful Strathavon ('perhaps the most perfect glen in Scotland'). The Yurt itself is truly off-grid, with heating by wood-burning stove and lighting by solar power and lantern. Water comes from an underground spring originating from high on the hill behind the yurt (we think you'll find it the sweetest water you've ever tasted) and you'll enjoy the shower of your life courtesy of our ingenious log-fired water-heating system. Cooking is by gas on the twin-ring hob in the Hut kitchen, or over the camp-fire for an authentic outdoors experience. There's a fully plumbed and flushing toilet in the Hut too, as well as sitting and dining areas, and also a wee writing-room where you'll find a WiFi signal, adequate for checking emails and keeping up with the outside world, if you really must . . . And in the evening, after a day striding the hills or exploring the countryside, you can enjoy a wee dram by the woodburning stove before turning in for a well-earned and peaceful night's sleep in the super-comfortable double bed. Getting back to nature doesn't get much better than this!
